Local Attorneys. Local Knowledge. Real Results.
Having grown up in Kent County, I am proud to serve the people of the Eastern Shore. I have an extensive background in non-profit work, which has taught me the importance of listening and collaboration - two skills that are invaluable in resolving difficult legal issues. With nearly a decade of courtroom experience, I am an experienced litigator when a trial is necessary. When I am in your corner, I will give your case my absolute all to achieve the results you want!
Areas of Practice
I joined Duke Law in the fall of 2017, and felt an immediate sense of purpose. Fighting for the citizens of the Eastern Shore is incredibly rewarding, whether it's a difficult family matter or a complex will and trust. No matter is small to the person dealing with it; so no matter is small to me. At Duke Law, we work closely with our clients to ensure we are constantly listening to their needs and working to resolve each case as quickly and successfully as we can.

Ivette Furneisen, a native of Spain, received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Barcelona Law School. While in Law School, Ivette was a Student Representative and an International Representative, where she attended national and international youth congresses, developing policy recommendations on global issues for the European Parliament. After becoming a United States Citizen, Ivette received her Master’s Degree in U.S. Law from George Mason Law School. Ivette previously worked for a legal non-profit organization assisting with immigration cases before the United States Citizenship Immigration Services for four years. She is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and is currently waiving into Maryland.
Ivette has had to experience the immigration process herself in order to obtain her citizenship and settle in this country, so she understands what it takes to navigate the sometimes difficult process of immigration.
Ivette is a member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, American Bar Association (ABA), Maryland Hispanic Bar Association (MHBA), and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
